Cadi Doyle, an adapted physical education teacher at Waples Mill and Oakton elementary schools, has been named the National Teacher of the Year for Adapted Physical Education by the Society of Health and Physical Educators.

Congratulations to all the FCPS student-athletes who participated in the 2024 winter sports season. This year, four teams and 36 individuals won the Virginia High School League (VHSL) Class 6 championship in their respective sports, and five teams and 36 individuals were the state runners-up.

A former FCPS parent is committed to making a difference in the Westfield High School pyramid after experiencing tremendous grief. Celeste Peterson lost her daughter, Westfield graduate Erin Peterson, in the tragic shooting at Virginia Tech in 2007.
